First, I would like to start with congratulating Randy on accepting the 2nd Officer
position. I decided to step down to let someone else have a go at it.
You will still see me from time to time leading rides.

Upcoming Rides:
TOMORROW Jan 27th: Ride to Lake Lure
Meet: 7:00am
Where: Exit 5 in South Carolina
KSU: 7:15. short stop in Trenton at the Jct of 19,121,& 25 to pick some one
up then on to Newberry and Route I-26 North towards lake lure. There will
be some Interstate driving.
Mileage around 400 total.
Feb 3, 2008 – Pre Superbowl Ride
Meet: 10:00am
Where: Shell Gas station at the intersection of Fury’s Ferry & N. Belair, across
the street from the new Wife Savers. Riding through some back roads to end
up in Thompson, have lunch at Ivey’s (country cooking, all you can eat for around
$8.00
KSU: 10:30am
Mileage around 120 to 130 total.
MONTHLY MEETING INFO:
We held our monthly meeting on Saturday Jan 19, 2008, always the third Saturday
of the month. Time is always at 1:00pm and location is always at the Side Track
Bar and Grill on Washington Road in Martinez.
Thanks for all those that showed up despite the inclement weather. Since no
one rode their bike to the meeting it was hard to figure out who was there when
everyone knows each other from the bike they ride and not the type of car/truck
drive.
For those of you who could not join us at the meeting we discussed the following:
Upcoming Overnight/Day Rides:
Savannah Invasion: Feb 21 thru 24. Some are planning on going the entire weekend.
I am planning a day ride to Savannah on Saturday Feb 23. We will start at the Spirit/McDonald’s
station on Hwy 56 (Mike Padgett Hwy) Start time will be announced on the Forum,
anyone interested should keep an eye on the forum for latest info.
South Carolina SCRC State Rally: May 9 & 10, in Spartanburg, SC., again keep
an eye on the forum for latest info. This is the 1st South Carolina SCRC State
Rally. No one mentioned going overnight but I am sure there be a day ride
to this event. The South Carolina SCRC members are putting together some nice rides.
Tenn. Ridge Runner Rally (SCRC event) and Honda Hoot: There are several members
planning overnight rides to the events. They both take place in June. More
info to follow.
Mike Adams will be taking several very long distant rides this year including one
to Alaska. If interested in joining him give him a call or e-mail him.
Georgia SCRC Rally: Third Weekend in July. The location changed to Cartersville,
Georgia. The host hotel and overflow hotels are filled but there are a lot
of hotels to stay in the area. More information available at the Georgia Forum Site

Randy is still working on plans for
some weekend and week long rides in the mountains. Time will be announced on the
Forum, anyone interested should keep an eye on the forum for latest info.
